The Company
Part of a national group of companies, my client is a well-known Australian company that specialises in the manufacturing and distribution of metal building products. They offer a wide range of products including roofing, cladding, fencing, and rainwater goods. Metroll serves various sectors including residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial construction.
The Role
Reporting to the operational General Manager, the main purpose of this role is to act as a SME for Health, Safety and Workers Compensation matters across multiple manufacturing site in NSW.
To be successful you will have to partner with business leaders to assist with delivering best standard practices and overall strong safety culture, and develop & implement systems
Responsibilities
Develop business level policy, procedures, systems and SOPs
Engage businesses and encourage consistency around standard safety solutions
Perform assurance functions as required and prepare concise reports for management
Work with businesses to identify and develop new initiatives that lead to measurable performance gains within safety systems, processes and behaviours
Actively assist business leaders with implementation of corrective actions and/or safety improvement initiatives
Assist with implementation of agreed corporate safety objectives
Ensure that return to work claims are regularly reviewed and effectively managed
Design plant risk assessments and manage training functions
Have a regular presence on site and lead safety from the front line
Actively lead and guide reports
Engage with Group wide safety initiatives
Requirements
Min. 5 years' experience in Health & Safety Leadership, within the manufacturing sector
Tertiary degree in this space is highly regarded
Demonstrated experience in reducing workplace injuries
Incident investigation training, with experience leading investigations.
Experience in preparing and delivering training to frontline workgroups
Experience in procedural and work instruction materials
Competent in conducting risk assessments
