Job Description

About the company
Recognised as a pure player across Tech, Management Consulting, D&E and Media sectors, this independent Australian M&A advisory boutique specialised in mid-cap transactions with IP based businesses.
The firm prides itself on a unique approach that combines its proprietary methodology—the 4Ps: Purpose, People, Process, Performance—with tailored services such as the 'Prep4Sale' workshop and 'The Apollo Journey' advisory program. These distinctive strategies ensure that clients are impeccably prepared from acquisition to exit, achieving optimal outcomes in their transactional endeavors.

About the Role
As an M&A Associate, you will engage directly in the intricate mechanics of buy-side and sell-side transactions. This role is pivotal, providing analytical support and strategic insights that drive the firm's success in executing deals. You will play a key role in shaping transaction structures that align with client goals and the firm’s innovative methodologies.

Responsibilities

· Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining and strengthening client relationships through regular updates and strategic advice throughout the transaction process.

· Conduct thorough market research and industry analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that could impact advisory services and client decisions.

· Proactively source new deals and evaluate potential targets or buyers that align with clients' strategic goals and financial criteria.

· Ensure all transaction documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory standards; prepare necessary documents such as term sheets, contracts, and closing documents.

· Develop and deliver strategic presentations to clients and senior stakeholders to provide updates, report findings, and recommend courses of action based on detailed analysis.

· Participate in training junior staff and interns, providing guidance and support in their development within the firm.

About You

· 3-5 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, or financial advisory, with a proven track record in M&A transactions.

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or professional certification (CFA) is highly regarded.

· Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modelling and Excel.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.

· Skilled in managing multiple projects under tight deadlines and adapting to evolving client needs.
