About the Role

The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Expert will ensure the integration of quality assurance processes throughout the product and system lifecycle in Sydney. Reporting to the Digital Systems Director, this crucial role involves establishing and maintaining rigorous quality standards and fostering a culture of excellence in software development.


Responsibilities

· Develop and enforce quality assurance protocols for software systems like C-SOC, AIS, and SPMS, ensuring alignment with industry standards and contractual obligations.

· Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity experts, and architects to devise comprehensive testing strategies.

· Conduct detailed security assessments, including penetration testing, to bolster software security measures.

· Lead the design and execution of test plans and scenarios to verify software functionality, performance, and security.

· Manage regression, integration, and system testing phases to confirm software updates meet quality standards.

· Analyse test outcomes, identify software bugs, and coordinate with developers for timely resolutions.

· Document all test procedures and results, providing clear reports to stakeholders and keeping abreast of regulatory changes and technological advancements in software quality and cybersecurity.


About You

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with substantial experience in software quality assurance, particularly in cybersecurity or asset information systems.

· Proficient in programming languages like Python, Java, and C++, and experienced with automated testing tools and security testing frameworks.

· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical data to diverse audiences.

· Relevant certifications in software quality assurance or cybersecurity.


Preferred Skills

· Expertise in Python, Java, JavaScript, and SQL, with a strong grasp of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

· Experience with tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Git, SVN, and CI/CD pipelines.

· Familiarity with Jira or Bugzilla for bug tracking and a solid understanding of web technologies.


Work Environment

This is a Sydney-based role requiring occasional coordination with the European time zone and the flexibility to meet strict deadlines under pressure.

The position does not require shift work but does participate in an on-call roster to support critical systems as needed.
