The Role

As a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing our safety culture. Reporting directly to the Quality & Safety Manager, you will embody our commitment to safety and continuous improvement. This position requires a self-driven, hands-on individual who thrives on the challenges and dynamics of on-site construction environments.


  • Implement, maintain, and review safety management systems to ensure they comply with current HSE legislation, company policies, and procedures.

  • Work closely with site teams to establish and maintain a safety-first culture, ensuring HSE matters are prioritized and effectively managed.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, providing detailed reports to the HSE Manager.

  • Take ownership of incident investigations, including reporting and follow-up actions to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to staff and contractors to promote HSE awareness.

  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices and lessons learned across all levels of the organization.

  • Manage and coordinate HSE documentation and ensure all records are up to date and accessible.

  • Engage with a wide range of personnel, fostering strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure HSE compliance on all projects, including the upcoming large-scale developments in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane.

About You

  • Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.

  • 3+ years experience in HSE coordination role within the construction or related industry.

  • Strong construction background with a passion for on-site work and the ability to make informed decisions autonomously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering concise, clear reporting to management.

  • Self-motivated and hands-on, with the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing environments.

  • Experience in managing safety on medium to large construction projects is essential.

  • Driver’s license and the ability to travel to various sites as needed.
