About the Role
As a Cyber Security Engineer based in Sydney, you will play a crucial role in the design, review, and implementation of cyber security technologies and solutions across both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments. Reporting to the Digital Systems Director, this position is integral to the development of a new C-SOC and ensuring the seamless integration of cyber security initiatives throughout all project phases.
Responsibilities
· Implement and manage cyber security solutions across IT and OT domains to mitigate threats and secure critical assets.
· Provide technical expertise in cyber security for the Western Sydney Airport Metro project, contributing to system architecture and integration.
· Develop and standardize cyber security policies, procedures, and management plans to ensure consistent application across all digital systems.
· Collaborate with global and local OT/IT teams to deliver project scopes on time and maintain system integrity up to the operational phase.
· Administer industrial cyber security platforms across OT/IT/IoT environments, ensuring comprehensive coverage and compliance with security protocols.
· Lead cyber incident response and manage third-party vendor relationships to enhance system security and performance.
· Stay abreast of emerging technologies and standards in cyber security to continually refine and improve system defenses.
About You
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Automation & Control, or a related field. Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) cert. highly regarded
· Min. 5 years of experience in OT, IT, and cyber security, preferably within critical systems environments like SCADA.
· Proficiency in system architecture, engineering frameworks, and cybersecurity investigation tools.
· A strong foundation in network communication protocols and cyber security frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, and ISO/IEC 27001.
· Demonstrated ability to design and implement security solutions in cloud-based industrial cybersecurity platforms.
· Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the capability to produce cyber security documentation for diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills
· Expertise in system engineering, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and IT security environments.
· Experience with Git, SVN, databases, SQL, and version control systems.
· Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, essential for working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
